VSafeTag Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the VSafeTag Customer App (“App”).

1. Information We Collect

a) Registration Information

When you register as a VSafeTag customer (directly in the App or with the help of an Executive), we may collect:

• Full Name*
• Date of Birth*
• Gender*
• Mobile Number*
• Address
• State*
• District*
• Preferred Language*

Fields marked with * are mandatory to create and manage your customer account and to provide services. Other fields may be optional but help us offer localized and better support.

b) Insurance Information (Optional)

If you choose to avail any insurance-related benefit or service linked to VSafeTag, we may collect:

• Aadhaar Number
• Nominee Name
• Relationship with Nominee

Providing Aadhaar and nominee details is optional, and you may choose to skip these fields. However, certain insurance or add-on benefits may not be available without this information.

We do not collect or store physical copies or images of Aadhaar cards. Only the Aadhaar number you enter is stored as part of your insurance-related profile and is used solely for verification and insurance-related purposes. It is not used for marketing or profiling.

c) Vehicle Information and RC Data

For vehicle registration, we collect:

• Vehicle Number (Registration Number)

Based on the vehicle number you provide, the App may fetch additional vehicle details from authorized Registration Certificate (RC) APIs or related services, such as:

• Vehicle make, model, and variant
• Fuel type
• Registration date and related RC details (where available)

This information is used to verify your vehicle, auto-fill details in your profile, and provide accurate VSafeTag services such as reminders and QR-based identification.

d) Device Information

We may collect limited device-related information, such as:

• Device model and operating system version
• App version
• Crash logs and diagnostic data (to improve app stability)

e) Camera Permission

The App uses your device’s camera only for scanning VSafeTag QR codes. We do not record, store, or share any images or video from your camera. Camera access is active only while you are on the QR scanning screen.

f) Location Permission

The App may request access to your device’s location when you use the Pin Location or similar location-based features. This is used to:

• Allow you to pin the current GPS location of your vehicle.
• Help executives or support staff reach your vehicle if you request assistance.

We do not:

• Track your location continuously in the background.
• Collect location data when the App is closed or not in use.
• Sell or share your location with advertisers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your VSafeTag customer account.
• To verify your identity using OTP-based login and security checks.
• To display your registered vehicle and emergency/nominee details within the App.
• To enable others to contact you when your vehicle is in trouble through VSafeTag mechanisms.
• To provide optional insurance-related services, if you choose to use them.
• To provide location-based assistance when you pin your vehicle location.
• To monitor and improve the performance, security, and reliability of the App.

3. Payments and Payment Gateway

The App may allow you to make payments for services such as VSafeTag activation, renewal, or related offerings. Payments are processed through secure third-party payment gateways.

The payment gateway may process:

• Your mobile number or email address (for transaction communication).
• Transaction amount and details of the purchased service.
• Payment method (UPI, card, wallet, net banking, etc.).
• Transaction ID and payment status (success, failed, or pending).

We do NOT collect or store any sensitive payment information, such as:

• Full card numbers
• CVV
• Card expiry dates
• UPI PIN
• Net banking passwords

These details are handled directly by the payment gateway using secure and PCI-DSS compliant systems.

4. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include encryption, secure servers, and restricted access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party service providers to support our App, including:

• SMS/OTP providers (for sending verification codes).
• Payment gateways (for processing your payments).
• RC data providers or APIs (for retrieving vehicle details).
• Analytics or crash-reporting services (to improve performance and stability).

These third parties only receive the minimum necessary information required to provide their services and are not permitted to use your information for unrelated marketing purposes.

6. Account Deletion and Data Retention

If you wish to delete your customer account and associated data from our systems, you can send a request to:

We may retain certain transaction or log information if required by law, regulation, or for legitimate business purposes (such as dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and accounting).
